Editorial Standards
How we create, review, and maintain the content on this site.
Who Writes Our Content
All content published on the Whitwell & Co. website is written or reviewed by credentialed members of our advisory team. Authors include Stefan Whitwell, CFA®, CIPM, who serves as the firm's Chief Investment Officer, and Rosemary Wright, CFP®, who leads financial planning. Each author holds professional certifications relevant to the topics they cover and brings years of hands-on client advisory experience.
Review Process
Every article, guide, and resource page undergoes a multi-step review process before publication. Subject-matter experts verify the accuracy of financial concepts, calculations, and strategic recommendations. A separate compliance review ensures all content adheres to SEC marketing rule requirements and does not contain misleading claims, guarantees of performance, or unsubstantiated testimonials.
Update Frequency
We review existing content on a regular basis to ensure it reflects current tax law, regulatory guidance, and market conditions. Time-sensitive articles, such as those covering annual contribution limits or legislative changes, are updated as soon as new information becomes available. Each updated article displays a "last reviewed" date so readers know the content is current.
Source Standards
We rely on authoritative, primary sources whenever possible. These include publications and data from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Social Security Administration (SSA), the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and peer-reviewed academic research. When we reference third-party studies or industry reports, we cite the original source and publication date so readers can verify the information independently.
